9th grader arrested, accused of making a threat

News

A 9th grade student at Ellison High School in Killeen is accused of making a terroristic threat against the school.

Killeen ISD Police arrested the 14-year-old Wednesday and sent her to juvenile detention to face prosecution. Officers say no students were in danger.

Ellison High School Principal David Dominguez sent the following message to parents after the arrest:

We take any kind of threat like this very seriously. Parents, please help us to make sure students know that if they ever make a threat against the school, they be charged with a felony and sent to jail or juvenile detention. The safety of everyone on campus is always our highest priority, and no threat such as this will ever be tolerated on the campus of Ellison High School.

As we reported last week, Killeen ISD held a meeting with parents about the importance of talking with students about internet safety and the consequences of making threats against schools.
