Amber alert for 9 month old is cancelled

An Amber Alert  issued Monday morning for a 9 month old boy taken from a home in Centerville Sunday has been canceled.

The Leon County Sheriff’s Office got a call about a child abduction that took place about 8:30 a.m.with the child taken without consent of his mother from her home in the 400 block of County Road 130 in Centerville.

The victim is 9-month-old Rheydyn Maneely.

The suspect named in the Amber Alert is 43-year-old Michael Shane Gates, described as a white male, five feet six inches tall, weighing about 160 pounds.

He fled the area in an unknown year ( possibly early 2000’s) grey Chevrolet 1500 pickup with large mud tires on the rear and a dent on the rear driver side.

The Leon County Sheriffl’s Office believes the child is in danger of serious bodily injury.

So far, we’ve received no word on the little boy’s condition or if Gates is in custody.
