The City of Waco water system is notifying all City of Waco Water customers residing on Old Lorena Road or streets adjoining Old Lorena Road, north of Presley Drive, and on Chapel Road or streets adjoining Chapel Road, west of Old Lorena Road, of the need to boil their water prior to consumption.
This is due to a leak and resulting low/no water pressure in the area.
These streets include: Old Lorena Road, Presley Drive, Hope Circle, Bluebonnet Lane, Warren Road, Lorena Meadows Drive, Mourning Dove Lane, Summer Harvest Drive, Chapel Road, Marcy Lane, Coleman’s Cove, Rabbit Hill, Possum’s End, Armadillo Drive, Longhorn Drive, Riverview Road, Southfork Circle, North Bend Court, N. Crooked Creek Road, S. Crooked Creek Road, Belver Road, Eaglecrest, Fox Ridge Road and Pence Drive.
The city says in order to ensure destruction of all harmful bacteria and other microbes, water for drinking, cooking and making ice should be boiled and cooled prior to use. The water should be brought to a vigorous, rolling boil and then boiled for two minutes. People will need to purchase bottled water or get water from another suitable source.
When it is no longer necessary to boil the water, water system officials will notify all that the water is safe for consumption. Instructions to discontinue boiling will be issued in the same manner as this notice.
Water Utility crews are currently on-site and will continue working until the leak is repaired and water pressure is restored. The affected area is outlined below.
