The Bryan Police Department is currently investigating a vehicle collision.
A Bryan Police Officer saw a green Chevrolet SUV ignore a red light at the intersection of Texas Avenue and East 23rd Street early Monday morning. The Chevrolet then collided with a tan Ford van.
The impact caused the Chevrolet to roll over and come and sit on its passenger side. The vehicle also caught fire, which was extinguished by Bryan Police officers.
A telephone pole was also damaged during the collision.
Northbound traffic on Texas Avenue was diverted until the scene was cleared at approximately 2:31 a.m.
The driver of the Chevrolet received a citation for Failure to Control Speed and for Disregarding a Red Signal. Those inside the Chevrolet had minor injuries, but did not require medical treatment.
Other contributing factors which may have caused the collision are currently under investigation.
