A man arrested after fighting Limestone County deputies is facing numerous charges following an early Wednesday morning incident.
The Limestone County Sheriff’s Office reports responding to a disturbance call at a rural location near Thornton about 2:30 a.m.
As deputies arrived, they found Timothy Deleon Thomas and while trying to talk with him, he is accused of charging the deputies, resisted being taken into custody and fought with them.
Deputies say it was only after several minutes of struggling that he was finally subdued and taken into custody.
Deputies involved did suffer minor cuts and bruises after the unexpected fight.
Thomas was taken to the Limestone County Jail and Wednesday afternoon was being held on charges of burglary of a habitation, two counts of assault on a public servant, resisting arrest, and evading arrest or detention.
Deputies acknowledged the assistance of the Groesbeck Police Department in making the arrest and noted that law enforcement personnel often face unexpected dangers and circumstances every day in doing their job.
