Charges pile up during attempted arrest

A man police were seeking for outstanding warrants found his list of charges piling up as the incident unfolded Wednesday.

Police had gone to the 800 block of Harlem looking for a man wanted for juvenile probation violations under a directive from the court to apprehend him.

When they found Kent Outley, he attempted to run from officers,  who pursued him on foot and had to deploy a Taser to get him under control and into custody.

After they got him into custody and searched him, they recovered 30 grams of cocaine and a firearm.

Police then determined that the firearm had been stolen.

They also recovered a quantity of cash from him.

As he was transported to the McLennan County Jail,  Outley found that in additiion to the original charges listed in the original warrants,  he was being charged with possession of a controlled substance cocaine,  evading arrest on foot, unlawful carrying of a weapon and theft of a firearm ( possession) all of which are felonies.

Bond was set at a total of $53,000.
