Complaint leads to Corsicana drug bust

News

A complaint from a citizen about possible drug activity lead to a visit Monday by Narcotics Detectives to a home in the 1600 block of West 10th Avenue in Corsicana.

As they approached the front door, their probably cause for a search came about because they could clearly smell marijuana through the open door.

They got their search warrant and upon serving it, found 2.3 pounds of marijuana already packaged up for sale.

They also recovered about 48 grams of Xanax, a semi automatic pistol and $687 in cash.

That money will be subject to seizure.

One person was arrested and charged with possession of marijuana over four ounces and under five pounds and possession of a controlled substance, penalty group three, over 28 grams.

A two year old child was located in the home closed to the recovered materials, leading to a possible charge of endangering a child.

A second person who was in the home was arrested when it was discovered he had an outstanding warrant from Corsicana Police for assault causing bodily injury.
