A 50-year-old College Station man has been arrested after trying to shake a pedestrian off the hood of his car as he fled an accident scene.
Andrew Allan Bush was booked into the Brazos County Jail on charges of aggravated assault with a deadly weapon, failure to leave information at an accident scene and DWI-second offense.
Police say it happened about 4:30 p.m. Thursday on Briarcrest Drive at North Earl Rudder Freeway when a Dodge Charger rear-ended a pickup truck.
Witnesses told police the driver of the truck got out and approached the vehicle that had hit him, when the driver of the Charger drove at him in an aggressive manner in an attempt to flee.
The man on foot jumped onto the hood of the Charger to avoid being hit and held on.
The driver of the Charger drove off, going east on Briarcrest with the victim still on the hood.
Witnesses told police the driver of the Charger appeared to be actively trying to shake the victim off his vehicle.
The driver of the Charger pulled into a gas station at Briarcrest and Boonville Road which allowed time for the victim to get off the vehicle safely.
The Charger then continued to flee south on Boonville Road until he came to a stop at Boonville and Copperfield.
At that point, witnesses boxed the suspect in until police could arrive and take him into custody.
