Final suspect in Temple killing brought back to Bell County

News

The fourth and final suspect in the December shooting of an 18-year-old Temple man has been brought back to Bell County and booked into the jail.

Bond was set at a total of $1,223,000 for 18-year-old Rashari Nae Fonne Brent, held on a charge of murder and two other previous charges.

Her probation on earlier charges is being revoked as well.

Brent was arrested in South Carolina.

She joins Chelsea Swint who was arrested in Fort Collins Colorado who was arrested and brought back earlier.

Two sixteen year old girls, whose identities have not been release due to their juvenile status, are also being held in the case.

They are being held in connection with the death of Isaac Kohlhaas, who was shot in a Temple Walmart parking lot December 5.

Arrest affidavits for Swint and Brent said that a woman interviewed at the hospital where Kohlhaas was taken told them the victim had planned to meet someone at the Walmart to sell them marijuana.

The affidavit also specified that a bag of marijuana was found beneath the victim.

The affidavit said the victim’s Facebook Messenger account was accessed and revealed a conversation between Kohlhaas and someone later identified as one of the female juveniles detained in the case setting up the meeting at the Walmart parking lot.

The affidavit said officers viewed surveillance video obtained at the Walmart and saw the victim’s vehicle pull into a parking spot with a dark colored sedan pulling in at an angle close to his.

Two people were seen getting out of the sedan and getting into the victim’s vehicle, then getting back out and running back to the dark sedan as the victim got out of his car and collapsed.

The affidavit said that the next day,  a juvenile female met voluntarily with police and said another juvenile along with Brent and Swint had talked about setting up a marijuana dealer to be robbed.

The vehicle believed used in the shooting was recovered in Columbia, South Carolina with stolen Texas license plates on it.
