Homeless man arrested for Killeen robbery

A man jail records list as being homeless was arrested a short time after a Saturday night robbery in Killeen.

Bond was set at $100,000 for 28-year-old Deaun Letroy Baker.

Killeen Police Department spokesperson Ofelia Miramontez says officers were called to the Family Dollar Store at 412 South Fort Hood Street at 8:32 p.m. Saturday for  a robbery that was in progress.

When they got there, officers were told that a man had run into the business, displayed a firearm and demanded the money, then fled.

Officers located the man who gave a statement to the officers regarding the robbery.

He was first taken to the Killeen city jail then booked into Bell County Monday morning.
