The Killeen Independent School District continues to closely monitor the weather and will remain in close communication with appropriate emergency management personnel throughout Bell County.
The district says their thoughts and prayers are with those directly impacted by the weather.
As flood waters continue to rise, students are reminded to never play near or walk through high water. Students and staff are reminded to never walk or drive through flood waters.
The district says it takes six inches of moving water to knock over an adult, and one foot of moving water can sweep away a vehicle. They anticipate continued rainfall throughout the week, which may result in transportation delays.
At this time, the rain hasn’t affected any Killeen ISD classes.
