KPD still looking for car in hit & run


Killeen police are still looking for a car and driver who ran down a five year old child then left the scene back on September 24.

Initially police were looking for a silver Dodge Charger in the case, but spokesperson Ofelia Miramontez says it has been located and its been determined that it did not hit the child.

New information was obtained that a dark blue or black sedan with a round emblem on the front and silver tinted windows hit the child.

Police would like to talke with any witnesses of the accident who might have information about the crash or the car and ask them to call KPD at 254-501-8830 or Crime Stoppers at 254-526-TIPS (8477)

The five-year-old boy has been released from the hospital and is doing well.

The accident occurred September 24 at about 12:12 p.m. in the 800 block of Jeffries Avenue.

The child had been taken to McLane Children’s Hospital in Temple.
