The Baylor Lady Bears have left their mark on Tampa and Tampa has left their mark on this team.
They came here to win a national championship after seven years of trying. They were always in the mix, but could never get that bounce or break they needed to make it happen.
But this year, they did. And for that, Tampa will forever be in their hearts.
“The city of Tampa, what great memories my basketball team has just going to Tourney Town, signing autographs,” says Head Coach Kim Mulkey.
“It’s an amazing feeling,” says junior guard Juicy Landrum. “Like I said, we worked all season from October to now. We worked all season for this now. ‘Together to Tampa’ is what we wanted and when L.C. [Lauren Cox] went down, we just knew we had to stay together and stick it out.”
One person in particular who left her mark on Tampa was Chloe Jackson. who was named the tournament’s Most Outstanding Player.
