Lampasas ISD says it has terminated a substitute teacher accused of having inappropriate electronic and social media communications with a minor student.
Superintendent Chane Rascoe sent out a note to parents Thursday about the investigation. Dr. Rascoe says the school district learned of the accusations on April 4th, and placed the middle and high school substitute on leave.
Dr. Rascoe says the district’s investigation concluded the teacher did violate school policy, so the teacher was terminated.
Lampasas police are still investigating to determine if any laws were broken.
In his statement, Dr. Rascoe made it clear that all Lampasas ISD employees are required to undergo a background check. He says the substitute teacher’s background check came back with no issues.
