The Baylor Law School accepted a variety of donations for victims of Hurricane Harvey on Monday.
The drive was organized by students, and they accepted not only donations of physical items such as water, diapers and food – but also financial donations and even legal help from lawyers in the area.
The student who organized the drive says it is important to empathize with victims.
“I think sometimes we might not realize what its like,” says Baylor law student Morgan Blair. “We ourselves aren’t affected, but I think its really important to band together and recognize that we are privileged not to have been affected here by Hurricane Harvey, but that we need to give back and help those who were affected.”
The drive was organized by the L.E.A.D. Counsel, a group in the laws chool which promotes leadership and giving back to the local community.
