Belton Standpipe named a landmark

Local News

A once useful water tower is now a landmark in the City of Belton.

The Belton Standpipe has been around since 1913, designed to hold the city’s water drawn from underground aquifers.

Now, it has a historical marker.

Belton hopes to transform the land surrounding the pipe into a park for families to enjoy.
