HAMILTON COUNTY, Texas (FOX 44) – Texas Department of Public Safety Troopers released new information Tuesday night about a deadly crash in Hamilton County Thursday afternoon. The crash killed 51-year-old Frankie Torres of Manor, Texas.

According to Sgt. Bryan Washko, Torres was driving west in a 2020 Chevrolet Malibu on State Highway 36 between Jonesboro and Hamilton when it left the road. Troopers say she overcorrected, lost control, and crossed into the eastbound lane.

The car slammed head-on into a 2022 Ford F-350 pickup towing a trailer with three horses inside. Both vehicles came to a stop in a barrow ditch on the south side of HWY 36. The horse trailer rolled over onto its side.

Justice of the Peace James Lively pronounced Torres deceased at the scene. The driver of the truck went to the hospital, but was later released.

Troopers say the crash investigation is open and active. This is a developing story. FOX 44 News will have more information as it becomes available.
