All escape Morgans Point Resort fire

The Morgan’s Point Resort fire department reports a major residential fire at 2:15 a.m. New Years Day.

Flames were visible as the first units arrived the home on Whitetail  Road.

A fire department statement said the call came from a neighbor who reported seeing his neighbor’s house on fire.

Firefighters credited Morgan’s Point Police Officer Newsome, who was first on the scene, with clearing the home and making sure everyone was accounted for.

The fire department post noted that their first-in engine company arrived within four minutes of being discharged and found a large, detached garage fully involved.

The crews were able to prevent spread into an adjacent home and other nearby properties.

Moffat and Temple Fire Departments assisted.
