A 43-year-old Bellmead man was taken to jail after officers say he put several bullet holes in the walls of his own house.

James Edward Blann remained in the McLennan County Jail Friday where he was taken after first being evaluated at a local hospital.

Police say Wednesday morning at 7: 15 a.m. they got a call through 9-1-1 from a man who said someone was trying to break into his house and that he was shooting at them.

Officers responded to the home in the 1400 block of Air Base Road, entered the home and found Blann in the kitchen area of the home.

Blann told the officers that ” they” were going to harm him, perhaps shoot him.

He believed he was seeing ” them” through a window.

A police statement said Blann was restrained by officers  ” to prevent him from harming himself or anyone else,” then took him for evaluation and later to the jail.

Officers located six bullet holes in the wall of the home and shell casings on the floor around where Blann had been standing.

He was charged with deadly conduct with bond set at $5,000.
