The City of Belton Parks and Recreation Department, City of Temple Parks and Recreation Department and the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers will co-host a formal re-opening ceremony for the Miller Springs Nature Center.

The center is a 260-acre scenic natural area located on Highway 2271, north of the Lake Belton Spillway.

The ceremony will take place on Saturday, July 14, at 9:00 a.m. City officials from both Belton and Temple will be in attendance, as well as District 55 Texas House Representative Hugh Shine.

After learning of the community’s interest in keeping the center open to the public after its closure in 2017, the City of Temple entered into a partnership with the City of Belton and the U.S. Army Corp of Engineers to develop a cooperative plan to reopen the area in the summer of 2018.
