Killeen ISD has confirmed its Union Grove Middle School Campus in Harker Heights was broken into early Friday morning, with the investigation showing it may be linked to other school burglaries.
Shortly after 1:00 a.m. Friday Harker Heights police were sent to Union Grove Middle School at 101 East Iowa Drive after off-site security reported that people had been seen outside the school and that it appeared there had been a forced entry.
Harker Heights officers arrived and set up a perimeter.
They then located a vehicle near the school with two men inside.
Two other people were later seen inside the school.
Officers entered the school and detained one suspect inside.
The second was caught coming out of the building.
Both turned out to be juveniles.
Killeen police assisted with a K-9 unit in searching the building to find out if there were any others inside, but none were found.
The four found by officers were all detained.
Further investigation and questioning have led detectives to believe there is a link between this burglary and other recent school burglaries in the Killeen area.
The exact criminal charges had not been determined as of Friday afternoon, and for that reason the names of the adult suspects have not been released.
The identities of the juvenile suspects will not be made public.
