A Bryan man was seriously injured in a Wednesday night stabbing incident and another is in the Brazos County Jail.
Bryan police were called about 8:15 p.m. to 505 Wayside on the stabbing report.
They found both the 24-year-old male victim and learned that his attacker had been in the same apartment with him and was able to provide police with the name of the suspect.
The victim was taken to St Joseph Hospital with what were described by police as life-threatening injuries and was listed in serious condition Thursday morning.
Police were able to make contact with the suspect and arrested him in the case.
After the suspect was taken to the hospital for treatment of some injuries of his own, he was taken to the Brazos County Jail where he was booked in on a charge of aggravated assault with serious bodily injury.
He was identified in the police report as 34-year-old Wakeem Tyrone Mathis Jr, though jail records indicated he was known by various other aliases.
Jail records also indicated he was being held on a child support payment warrant and that he had been in the jail several times dating back to 2001.
