A man hoping to buy a cell phone became a victim of a robbery in Killeen,  but the man suspected of turning that transaction around has himself ended up in jail.

It was back on April 30 that police were called to the 100 block of East Central Texas Expressway where a man said he had been beaten and robbed.

He told officers he had gone to meet a man to buy a phone, but instead was assaulted and robbed.

Police identified a suspect as 18-year-old Demonte Johnson.

He was arrested and booked into the Bell County Jail on charges of robbery and evading arrest.
