According to the Texas Department of Transportation, the Knife River Corporation will close the northbound China Spring Highway right turn lane onto Wortham Bend Road on Wednesday.

This turn lane will not be rebuilt, and traffic will have to continue through the traffic signal at the intersection to turn onto Wortham Bend Road. There will be a dedicated turn lane at the light.

This traffic transition is part of an ongoing project to upgrade a portion of China Spring Highway, which began in April 2016.

The project is widening the two-lane facility to a four-lane roadway with a raised median, from Steinbeck Bend Drive to Wortham Bend Road.

This work is being done at a cost of $27.8 million and is scheduled to be complete in summer 2018.
