Harker Heights Police report that although a morning rush hour crash was spectacular and cause some major traffic problems, all involved escaped serious injury.

HHPD spokesman Lt. Stephen Miller said the call came in about 7:00 a.m. regarding a crash on westbound IH-14 near Heights Lumber adjacent to the 600 block of West Knights Way.

Lt Miller said a white GMC Yukon going west on I-14 crashed into the construction retain wall on the side of the road, rolled over and ended up on its roof.

A motorcycle that was also westbound came quickly up on the accident with the rider braking, then laying the bike down while it was still moving in an attempt to avoid hitting the Yukon.

Lt Miller said that the two vehicles did not actually make contact.

Both the Yukon driver and the motorcycle rider received scratches and bruises while other drivers faced lengthy delays.
