There was a flurry of excitement around the Coryell County Courthouse Friday morning as deputies got involved in a foot chase and apprehension of a woman who fled the building when she found out there was a warrant for her arrest.
A Sheriff’s Office spokesman said the woman had been at the probation office in the courthouse and was told there was a motion to revoke her probation on an earlier charge of unauthorized use of a motor vehicle.
She ran from the office and was chased on foot as she left the building.
She was caught a few blocks away.
In the meantime, as her pickup was being impounded, a K-9 alerted on the vehicle, leading to a search of its contents before it was loaded on a wrecker to be taken away.
The woman, identified by the Sheriff’s Office as Taylor Bauman of Gatesville, was taken to the Coryell County Jail on the original warrant and on charges of evading arrest, with other additional charges possible.
