Driver charged with waving gun at pedestrian

Temple police say a 20-year old man is facing multiple charges after a pedestrian reported he waved a gun at him as he drove through an intersection.

The victim called police Sunday and told hem he was crossing the road in the 400 block of West Avenue G when a car was driven up recklessly.

He told officers he yelled at the driver to slow down at which time the driver displayed the handgun.

Officers found the vehicle described in the 900 block of South 11th Street and contacted the driver identified as 20-year-old Emilio Lorenzo Canul of Temple.

The investigating officer said Canul admitted waving the weapon.

It was also discovered he did not have a valid driver’s license.

He was taken to the Bell County Jail charged with deadly conduct,  unlawfully carrying a weapon wnd driving with license invalid with a previous conviction.
