WACO, Texas. A rainy Sunday in did not stop fans from coming out to support The Lady Bears.
Fans gathered at the Dancing Bear Pub for a watch party, filled with food, beer and of course; a lot emotions.
“It was very stressful. Notre Dame fought really hard.” says Baylor fan, Jacobo Garcia.
The Bears led the first two quarters but Notre Dame caught up in the second half.
“They started making shots, we starting missing everything…very nerve-wrecking,” says Garcia.
In the end Bears pulled through winning with a one point lead, 82-81, but it was not an easy task.
“Lauren Cox got injured which made me nervous, but as soon as we started hitting our shots, we started slowing down and making sure that we were not taking unneccesarry shots, we got a lot better,” says fan, Cameron Gunter.
This is the Bears third time winning the NCAA championship. They’ve won the title in 2005, 2012, and now in 2019.
