The City of Groesbeck has enacted stage two of its water conservation plan that limits lawn watering to specific days and limits other water useage.
The mandatory lawn watering schedule calls for odd number street addresses to water on Wednesday and Saturday and even numbered addresses allowed to water only on Thursday and Sunday, with watering to take place only between midnight and noon.
Non essential water usage is prohibited, with no washes or sidewalks or driveways and no water hydrant flushing.
Citizens are asked to limit residential car washing unless a bucket is used.
The city’s announcement said that current and predicted decreases in lake levels combined with the extended weather forecast make it necessary to implement the restrictions.
It was also noted that violators of stage two restrictions are subject to fines.
Questions regarding Stage Two restrictions or the Drought Contingency Plan should be directed to City Administrator Chris Henson at 254-729-3497 or Public Works Director Keith Tilley at 254-729-3293.
