Houses spared by Lampasas area fire

Lampasas firefighters say sparks from construction workers started a fire that blackened over sixty acres and threatened at least three homes Tuesday.

Lampasas Fire Department and Adamsville Volunteer Fire Department were dispatched to Lampasas County Road 2337 at 1:36 p.m. Tuesday.

Before it was over they were joined by firefighters from Kempner, Lometa and Evant and were aided by equipment from the Texas Forest Service.

No injuries were reported.
