Killeen ISD postpones event due to weather

Local

Killeen ISD canceled the Middle School District Track Meet scheduled for tomorrow because of concerns about the weather.

FOX44 Chief Meteorologist Mike LaPoint says a storm system will move across Central Texas Saturday morning and afternoon, bringing with it the potential for heavy rains, hail, damaging winds, and isolated tornadoes.

With the safety of school children in mind, KISD has moved the track meet to Wednesday, April 10th and Thursday, April 11th at 5:30pm.

The girls will hold their running finals on Wednesday while the boys hold their field events.  On Thursday, that will be reversed.

This will also mean that the soccer season will now start on April 18th instead of April 11th.
