As word spread about the passing of George H. W. Bush, the 41st President of the United States of America, well wishers from around the world shared their memories and thoughts.

President Donald Trump tweeted out a statement from Argentina:

Governor Greg Abbott made this statement from social media:

Texas mourns the loss of one of our greatest Presidents. George H.W. Bush was an American hero and icon, he was a friend to all he met, he embodied class and dignity. On behalf of the Lone Star State, Cecilia and I offer our thoughts and prayers to the entire Bush family.

Former Texas governor Rick Perry posted this picture of him and Mr. Bush on Instagram, saying we were all better knowing this fine gentleman.

Former President Barack Obama summed up his feelings about the elder President Bush this way on Twitter:

America has lost a patriot and humble servant in George Herbert Walker Bush. While our hearts are heavy today, they are also filled with gratitude. Our thoughts are with the entire Bush family tonight – and all who were inspired by George and Barbara’s example.
