Limestone K9 gets body armor

The Limestone County Sheriff’s Office reports their K-9 officer “Jack” now has extra protection in the form of a bullet and stab protective vest.

It comes as a charitable donation from a non-profit organization called Vested Interest in K-9’s

Jack’s vest was sponsored by an anonymous donor.

Vested Interest in K-9’s is a charity whose mission is to provide body armor and other assistance to dogs of law enforcement and related agencies throughout the country.

They have been around since 2009 and since then have provided over 2600 protective vests in 50 states, made possible by private and corporate donations.

Each vest has a value between $1795 and $2234.
