Man accused of hurting his elderly mother, damaging her home

Copperas Cove police have arrested Travis Lee Holt on a charge of injury to an elderly individual following an  early Tuesday morning disturbance at a Cove home.

Officer had been called to the home in the 2200 block of Phyllis Drive about 12:30 a.m. and found two men arguing, with officers saying one of them, later identified as Holt, appearing highly intoxicated.

The officer noted he slurred his speech and stumbled going to a chair to sit down.

The officer also noted in his report that he found a malt liquor beverage present.

In speaking to his 71-year-old mother, officers were told that Holt in a highly intoxicated state had destroyed several items in the residence.

Officers, among other things, noted a door frame had been broken an d a screen door was lying in the broken wood.

They also were told that the elderly woman ahd been injured, when at one point a full can of soda had been thrown at her,  hitting her in the left hip.

Officers took Holt into custody.
