Waco police say a homeless man was sent to the hospital with injuries after he was beaten and robbed by three other men at a Waco homeless camp.

Waco police spokesman Patrick Swanton said Michael Kenneth Moore and Christopher Lynn Wadleigh were arrested on robbery charges and a third man was being sought Thursday morning.

Swanton said it happened in a wooded area behind the Wal Mart store in the 4300 block of Franklin Avenue late Wednesday night.

The 56-year-old victim was approached by three other men in the camp and beaten in the ribs, neck and head with a stick, then forced into a tent and made to remove all his clothes.

An unknown amount of cash and a cell phone were then taken from the victim.

When police got there, they took Moore and Wadleigh into custody and the victim was transported to Baylor Scott & White Hillcrest Hospital for treatment of his injuries.

Police said they recovered some of the cash and other items taken, but were not able tor find the cellphone.
