Man charged in attack over a dog

A 66-year-old man has been arrested by Temple Police in connection with a knife incident that occurred back in March.

David Howell Wade was booked into the Bell County Jail on charges of aggravated assault causing bodily injury.

Back on March 12, police were called to the 200 block of South 23rd Street on a disturbance involving a knife. When they got there, they found the would-be victim had turned the tables on his alleged attacker and had him pinned on the ground.

The victim told police the suspect had come to his home and accused him of taking his dog.

The situation escalated with the suspect accused of pulling a knife and swinging it at the victim before he was subdued.

Police detained Wade and took him to jail, but he ended up being released while the investigation continued.

Police report they resubmitted the case to the District Attorney’s Office later and obtained an new arrest warrant, and Wade was picked up Thursday.
