A College Station man has been arrested after attempting to hurt his little sister.

Officers with the College Station Police Department responded to the Southgate Village Apartments at 134 Luther Street on Monday afternoon in reference to a call of a man with a knife that had possibly threatened a child.

As officers responded to the area, a suspect – identified as 17-year-old Esteban Antonio Deleon, of College Station – was quickly located and detained. During the investigation, officers found out Deleon intentionally threw a pocket knife at his sister – a child younger than 15 years of age. The knife narrowly missed hitting the child.

Deleon went to get the knife and was attempting to flee the area when officers located and detained him. He was still in possession of the knife when he was detained.

Deleon was arrested and charged with Endangering a Child. His sister was unharmed.
