A 29-year-old College Station man was booked into the Brazos County Jail early Friday morning after shots were reported fired toward a car in a College Station parking lot.

Isiah Thomas Childs was held on a charge of aggravated assault with a deadly weapon and two smaller misdemeanor cases that were unrelated.

About 5:40 p.m. Thursday, College Station officers were called to the 1300 block of Barthelow Drive when citizens reported gunshots being fired in the parking lot of the apartment complex.

Before the officers got there, the suspected shooter had gone.

Police were able to find a man who said he was sitting in a car in the parking lot and that the shots had been fired in his direction.

A short time later,  the suspected shooter, later identified as Childs,  came back to the scene and was taken into custody.

The intended victim was not injured and it turned out the two men knew each other.

Police say they do not believe there was any danger to the public at large.

Brazos County Jail records indicate Childs has been booked into that facility fifteen times since 2007.
