Man charged with threatening to burn his mother’s house

A McLennan County man remained in jail Wednesday morning on charges he threatened to burglarize and burn his mother’s house to the ground.

Dustin Grimm was arrested by McLennan County deputies who found him near the home he had threatened to burn.

An affidavit for a warrantless arrest filed by McLennan County deputies stated that they had been looking for Grimm as they checked the area of the home after being told of the threats.

The affidavit sais that the accused threatened burning the house in retaliation for his mother contacting police and filing charges against him for criminal trespass stating ” since you are calling the police to keep me from getting my property, I will take what is mine and burn the house down.”

The affidavit said that deputies found Grimm a few blocks from his mother’s home and attempted to make contact with him,  at which time he ran toward Gholson Road and cut across a yard before he was caught.

Deputies reported that he resisted attempts to get him handcuffed.

He was booked into the McLennan County jail on charges of obstructing or relatiation, a third degree felony, terroristic threat of family or household, evading arrest or detention on foot and resisting arrest, search or transport.
