The Department of Public Safety has released the name of a man found dead in a home in Aquilla in Hill County after evading a trooper who had tried to stop him for a traffic violation.

The man, identified as 31 year old Miles Anthony McBrayer of Waco was found by a homeowner about an hour after the incident.

DPS reports the pursuit began at 3:06 p.m. Wednesday on FM 1133 in Hill County when a DPS trooper attempted to stop a 2001 Ford Mustang for the violation.

The driver did not stop and attempted to evade the trooper, turning from FM 1133 onto Hill County Road 2221 in Aquilla.

He then lost control of the Mustang which crashed into a fence.

The driver fled from the wrecked vehicle and fled on foot, with the trooper unable to locate him.

A DPS spokesman says the death does not appear related to the crash that followed the pursuit.

An investigation into the incident and death remains open.
