A McLennan Community College student found inside a burning car with a toddler is indicted for Aggravated Assault, Unlawful Restraint and Endangering a Child.

Jacob Russell Laskowski previously faced three felonies after lighting his car on fire with himself and his daughter inside.

MCC Police found the car in a parking lot around 12:20 a.m. on Thursday, April 19. It was then a mystery started to unfold.

When the officers called for backup, Waco Police, McLennan County Deputies and Waco Fire all responded.

One report said Laskowski locked himself in the trunk and started the fire by using lighter fluid and charcoal – possibly trying to commit suicide. Reports also stated a woman might have been with Laskowski, but wasn’t present at the scene.

Laskowski is in the McLennan County Jail, while Child Protective Services is caring for the toddler.
