Bond has been set at $150,000 for a 29-year-old Killeen man who tried to convince a victim that he was a police officer,  then robbed him of his money and his car.

Angelo Vincent Gugino was tracked down by police and booked into the Bell County Jail over the weekend on charges of impersonating a public servant and robbery.

Killeen police spokesperson Ofelia Miramontez said the incident occurred back on Thursday, March 25th at the Modern Inn at 1010 Root Avenue in the downtown area.

The victim told police a man they now believe to have been Gugino approached the victim and asked for his ID,  saying he was a police officer and quickly flashing some form of ID in front of the victim too fast for him to see clearly.

He then demanded the victim’s property and drove off in his car, which was recovered a short time later.

Gugino remained in jail Monday.
