Man shot, apartments damaged in Bryan shooting

Local

Bryan police say one man is in critical damage and several apartments were damaged by gunshots in an early Thursday morning shooting incident.

Police were called to Canyon Village Apartments  at 3200 Finfeather Road in Bryan at 12:30 a.m. on reports of several shots being fired.

At about that time, a 27-year-old man turned up at CHI St. Joseph hospital suffering from gunshot wounds, brought by private vehicle.

As soon as he was dropped off, the others in the car left.

The victim was later transferred to another hospital where he is listed in critical but stable condition.

Police say they have been able to determine that the victim and several other people were at one of the apartments in the complex when another group of people arrived.

An argument broke out between the two groups that escalated with several shots being fired.

Police say they believe that all those involved knew each other and that this was an isolated incident.

Several apartments received damage from the gunfire but no other injuries were reported.

Bryan police are actively investigating the shooting and are asking that anyone with information contact the Criminal Investigation Division at 979-209-5300 or Crime Stoppers at 979-775-TIPS (8477)
