A suspect in the November 9 shooting of a Copperas Cove teenager has been brought back from California to face charges and is now in the Coryell County Jail.
Andrew Faaola Sommervold had been picked up in California on the charges less than a week after the shooting that took place in the 300 block of Bonnie Lane.
Police had been called there about 10:15 p.m. on a “shots fired” call and found the victim.
He was first taken to Darnall Army Medical Center, then transferred to Baylor Scott & White Hospital in Temple where he later died, just short of his 18th birthday.
He and his family had only lived in Copperas Cove for a short time.
Two other men had earlier been arrested in the case: 17-year-old Jamiroquai Michael Ejiawoko and 23-year-old Joshua Vega, both of Copperas Cove.
A juvenile female was also detained in the case.
As of January 1, bond had not been set for Sommvervold who was booked into the jail Sunday.
