New KISD HS to be district’s largest

Killeen ISD has released an artist’s rendering of what will become KISD High School #6.

Spokesman Terry Abbott says this is what the school will look like when it opens in the fall of 2022.

It will be the largest school in Killeen ISD history, totalling about 450,000 square feet.

It is expected to cost about $140 million and will be paid for from proceeds of the $426 million bond program approved by the voters in May 2018.

He noted that the KISD bond program is the larges public works project in the history of Killeen.
