No decision was made by the McGregor ISD school board Thursday on the fate of McGregor Head Football Coach and Athletic Director Judd Thrash, who was placed on administrative leave in January.
At this time, we still don’t know why he was placed on administrative leave.
Thrash was definitely feeling the love as many who showed up to support for him, saying the superintendent is trying to retaliate against him.
FOX44 asked the district, along with parents, about the administrative leave, getting no concrete answers.
Although some may be happy to see the coach terminated, many at Thursday’s meeting say the school district has been targeting him from the very beginning.
“The facts are that Coach Thrash has been harassed from the minute he came to McGregor ISD. He was told by the superintendent he was not his first choice. There were three candidates for the athletic director, and he didn’t want Coach Thrash and told him that from the very beginning,” says parent Guyla McClinton.
At the end of the night, McGregor ISD Superintendent James Lanamon sent out a written statement:
“At the meeting this evening, the board took no action related to the ongoing investigation being conducted by the district legal counsel regarding the Athletic Department.
“In addition, the board took no action related to the athletic director‘s employment. Because the investigation is ongoing and it and the contract involves personal issues, I am not at liberty to provide further details at this time.”
