KILLEEN, Texas. Killeen Police Department is investigating a shooting near the intersection of North 2nd Young Street.

“We had, I can tell you. A lot of officers and detectives who came out to the area. They did a sweep of the area,” says Killeen Police Spokesperson, Ofelia Miramontez

Officers found the 18-year-old victim and a witness on their way to a hospital.

Investigators say the witness told them what the shooter looked like.

The suspect ran and after 20 minutes, he was caught after hiding at an apartment complex on Dunn Ave.

The victim was airlifted to Baylor Scott and White where he remains in critical condition.
