A ton of ice was dropped into the wavepool at Hawaiian Falls on Thursday.
The park says with days with temperatures well over 100 degrees, the ice provides some relief – as well as excitement – to park attendees. The ice drop also marks the midpoint in the hot Texas summer.
“It’s just a great midsummer excitement. When everyone’s getting….the heat’s been on us for about a month and a half. We still have about a month and a half to go. It’s just a great midsummer relief,” says Hawaiian Falls Waco Director Justin Litton.
The park has dropped ice into the pool annually since 2012.
