The demolition of the Owen Lane Water Tower in Waco continued Friday with noticeable progress being made.
Its being taken down to make way for a new two million gallon tower.
Taking down the large structure which is a highly visible landmark near Waco Drive and Loop 340 is no easy task, and is being accomplished one piece at a time.
The replacement water tower will be part of a ten year system improvement program to renew and rebuild infrastructure as Waco continues to grow.
The program includes almost $300 million in water and wastewater projects.
The demolition will have no impact on water service and no roads are being closed for the work.
