The Brazos County District Attorney’s Office has announced a partnership with the Texas A&M University College of Nursing Forensic Science Program to train nurses to deal with violence and abuse cases.

The program will educate and train forensic nurses across the state of Texas.

The Brazos County District Attorney’s Office will specifically provide training regarding laws governing domestic violence, sexual assault, child abuse and elder abuse.

Included in the program will be simulated trial situations to help the forensic nurses better explain medical evidence to juries in these cases.

It is hoped that the program will help equip forensic nurses with the knowledge and skills to better help victims and survivors of abuse.
